I wonder where I stand with Eyeon Fusion now that it is a Blackmagic product?

Well I guess it had to happen at some point.

Eyeon is no longer a Canadian company. They went and sold it to Blackmagic.

I really hope that they are going to be thinking about a decent seat sale or update for those of us wishing to keep the software up to date.

Good or bad I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

  1. Thank goodness for web searches, or I’d have no idea what you’re talking about. 😉

I knew of Fusion back when it was Digital Fusion, but not as eyeon Fusion. Unfortunately, you never know how a sale like this will affect your software. I remember when my old modeling/rendering software was sold to Microsoft. I knew right then that the writing was on the wall. I don’t know anything about Blackmagic, beyond what I found out in my search, but you may be OK or you may be screwed. Time will tell.

Is there any update on this matter now?

  3. Hey Greg, did you see where they’ve released Fusion for free? That’s pretty crazy, given that it used to be around $2,500. Anyway, I downloaded Fusion 7.5 earlier and didn’t pay a thing for it.

    Good for you man!
Checking into what the head brass have to say in an email to Blackmagic now.
For hells sake a full version of Fusion Studio is only $995!
